That endless kick drum isn't as raw as it was in the beginning. It melts into soft positions to dictate the pace to a crowd of sweaty bodies in a flood of thick smoke, pulsing strobe lights and warm fuzzy lights. What was generic, machine-like and repetitive becomes organic, inherently human and ritualistic. The BPM forces one to continue at a given rhythm, but one can also slow down, double speed up, or react naturally to the incoming sound layers. Although it is said that "nothing good happens after 2 AM," the occasional disruption of biorhythms and traditional structures opens up new possibilities for knowledge.
